Fire & EMS Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

Welcome to the official Fire & EMS SOP for Denali State Roleplay (DSRP).
These guidelines exist to promote realistic, fair, and enjoyable emergency services roleplay. Quality roleplay and common sense are always expected.


  1. Remain professional and in character while on duty.
  2. Follow all server rules and Fire & EMS SOPs.
  3. Do not deny medical roleplay without a valid roleplay reason.
  4. Do not revive patients to immediately rejoin active threats or combat.

  1. You are considered on duty when:

    • Wearing Fire or EMS uniforms
    • Operating Fire or EMS vehicles
    • Actively responding to Fire or EMS calls
  2. While on duty, you must:

    • Remain professional and in character at all times
    • Operate strictly within Fire & EMS roleplay responsibilities
  3. Authorized Equipment

    • Medical kits, trauma bags, stretchers
    • Fire extinguishers and firefighting tools
    • Flashlights and basic utility equipment
    • Firearms for personal defense only
  4. Prohibited Equipment

    • Unauthorized or non-duty-related items
    • Equipment used for law enforcement or criminal roleplay

  1. Emergency lights and sirens must be used appropriately.
  2. Lights and sirens are for responding to calls, not convenience or traffic bypassing.
  3. Always clear intersections and deem them safe before proceeding.
  4. Fire & EMS vehicles must be operated realistically and responsibly.

  1. Ensure the scene is secured before beginning suppression.
  2. Perform a verbal or implied scene size-up when possible.
  3. Establish a safe working area prior to fire suppression.
  4. Respond appropriately to:
    • Structure fires
    • Vehicle fires
    • Wildland fires
    • Hazardous or unsafe situations

  1. Vehicle extrications must be roleplayed, not instant.
  2. Stabilization and hazard mitigation should occur before patient removal when reasonable.
  3. Coordinate with EMS prior to patient handoff.
  4. Communication between Fire and EMS is required during complex scenes.

  1. Ensure the scene is secured before treatment.

  2. Conduct realistic patient assessments based on the incident.

  3. Match injuries to the situation and avoid unrealistic outcomes.

  4. Prioritize patients appropriately during multi-patient scenes.

  5. Medical Roleplay Standards

    • No instant or unrealistic healing
    • Allow time for treatment roleplay
    • EMS does not participate in law enforcement actions

  1. Patients may refuse medical care with a valid roleplay reason.
  2. EMS must acknowledge and roleplay the refusal.
  3. Refusal does not override server rules regarding death or injury roleplay.

  1. Minor SOP issues should be handled through roleplay when possible.
  2. Repeated or disruptive behavior may be addressed by staff.
  3. SOP violations may result in removal of Fire or EMS privileges.
  4. SOPs may be updated as the server evolves.

All Fire & EMS members must acknowledge this SOP before going on duty.
